Next season I am set to be running for a lower level D1 school that has a reputation for being a big party school. I chose the school partly for that reason. In high school I went out all the time, drank all the time, and still saw considerable success on the track as I was also able to prioritize running when it mattered. My issue in high school was that I never reached my potential in the classroom mostly because I prioritized other things. In college I'm hoping to make school my top priority. Running can get you in to a great college but sadly it cannot get you a great job after college (unless of course you go pro). My question is can I have a fulfilling collegiate running career, a crazy college partying experience, and still maintain good grades all at the same time? Coaches have told me no but is there anyone else who can weigh in? Thanks for the help.
