Move over Rudisha, Mark English is here! 1.45.77 and still a junior! 5/28/2012 7:26PM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
Mark English soloed to a 1.45.77 win in Belgium at the weekend. The race video is on here

looks pretty damn easy, as every race by him does.

English, the young Irishman with an unfortunate surname is just gone 19, is the reigning European youth champion, and now looks primed for the world junior title.

Can he do it?

Perhaps the surname is fine. Perhaps it's his nationality that's unfortunate - for him.

Its a surname, how is it unfortunate?

And don't come at me with that, dur hur he is Irish excuse, its no different than a Asian man have the last name Johnson, the practice of pointing out uncommon names in areas is just poor writing, he obviously lacks talent in writing about talent.

ultimately it comes down to desire.
does he want it? how much does he want it? Can anyone legitimately beat the africans in a footrace?
these are all worthy questions. never in my 44 years have I seen a white man beat out a black man in a tete a tete, so the odds are stacked against him.

hard to see much of his effort with that camera work focusing on the midpack. 4.7 sec to drop to challenge rudisha's bests.

how does an asian with the name johnson have the same effect?
Maybe an indian lad with the surname pakistani would have the same effect, no? (ill have to spell it out for you-india and pakistan are two countries which despise each other, quite like ireland and england)

Not bad for a mazungo. Already 4 African juniors faster than him this year.

Although that Mo Aman looks like he's in his 30s.
Meant to be 17 in this photo

This seems to have gone under the radar.

1:45.77 and no mention in the "Fast Juniors at 800m" piece on the main site.

Probably missed him out due to the shock of a junior running a fast time and actually being a real junior.

Wow an American based site, run by two Americans, read mainly by Americans has an American bias. Who would have thunk it.
