Anybody ever run one of these? Looks like you pay $50 to run a 5k and get sprayed with paint every kilometer. I don't see how that is enjoyable.... thecolorrun.com |

Such fun, it brings a less serious, laid back feel to running races. I mean, I am serious about my racing and training - 25 minute 5k and 20 miles a week, but some races, I just want to absorb the fun and atmosphere! I recently ran a 28 minute color 5k. You should also try Tough Mudder (harder than running a race) or Cross Fit! |

Yeah, I agree. It annoys me to see all these races try to have some gimmick when they are really just a money trap. And they play up these "post-race parties" as though running for 20-30 minutes is a feat that should be celebrated for hours. It's one thing for a marathon, but for a 5k? Come on. |

Well, for some, a 5k is a lot!! I mean its 3.1 miles, for those stuck with an 8 hours desk job, just completing one is to be celebrated! :) |

How did the paint spray sections work? Was it volunteers with water guns loaded with paint or some automated system? |
