An analyst is entitled to his opinion on the "correct" value of a FB share. That plus $0.99 will buy you a snickers bar.
People buy and sell FB stock (just like any other stock) of their own free will. The price at which they make that exchange is the real price of the stock. Everything else is just a bunch of childish nonsense.
Of course the price paid is the price of the stock.
However, there is much to the saying "price is what you pay, value is what you get".
Companies can be grossly overvalued and undervalued in the stock market, relative to the underlying value of the business. If you have swallowed the efficient market theory for all individual stocks at all times, then I think you may be the stupid one.
