Weldon, seriously, can you please BAN this idiot who keeps stealing everyone's name?
A suggestion to Mike, Renato, and Antonio: REGISTER YOUR NAME!

Mike is registered. This imposter is Michae-capital-i Bautista.
We can only hope that these idiots disappear, soon.
If El G ended his career now, what he has accomplished would make for the greatest sports bio ever. 9 years of greatness and striving for the elusive Olympic gold, 1996-2004, finally ending with not one, but two golds. You couldn't find a better script for a movie. Whatever he does in 2005 /2006 will be "extra". Thank god he won the 1500m in Athens. I couldn't bear to watch that race. I had been dreading that 3 and a half minutes ever since Sydney.
On to another topic for possible discussion in this awesome and wide ranging megathread: Maybe I'm mistaken, but a certain kind of training session that Coe used as a staple, and something I don't think many of the world's best 800m / 1500m types are embracing these days, is the big speed endurance 30-40x200m with short recovery sessions. Typically 1500m pace, 30sec recovery. Have these kinds of sessions gone out of style?

Mr. Canova I am entering college and was wondering what you think a Distance coach should study? Physiology?
Renato, what happened to Kenyan Abraham Chebii? 2 years ago he was considered a legitimate threat on the world level, and he is one of just 3 runners ever to have beaten both Gebrselassie and Bekele (Chebii, Sihine, and Geneti have done it). And he even placed 2nd in the short cross race. But he seems to have lost it on the world level, never able to stay with the front group in a 5,000. He dropped out of the Olympics, and though he was once able to run 24 seconds for the final 200, he now has lost his kick.
What on earth happened?
Maybe building a house
He is retired?
Has anyone actually read this thread?
He changed management group and the new coaching arrangement doesn't seem to be working too good.
Bump this so Canova may respond

will this post get up to 3 thousand?
I'm now back in iten but no so good weekend for my athletes. I think that should say i'm not actualy real and jusy made up by imagination of JK.
hello!
hassan, sihine and tadesse are not listed. does any 1 know WHY? i am interested to know, why tadesse didn`t compete in hengelo or paris. any madrilene here? BTW how knows his trainer Jeronimo Bravo?
grazie!
renato, what could you get out of tadesse? 26:3x?
Renato, if you had a serious American athlete come to you seeking some help with running, would you help?
Also, what does everyone think of today's Golden League?
What happened to Sihine? 12:47 and 26:39 last year, but he was not there in Rome today. I think this guy can defeat Bekele. He ran 12 seconds for his last 100m last year in Hengelo outsprinting Gebrselassie, and a week ago he was "disappointed" with 26:57. The Ethiopians are incredible. Dinkessa, Sihine, Gebremariam, Bekele, Berhanu, T. Bekele, and the list goes on. Wow
Renato:
What a race in Rome today, Shaheen vs Koech was a fight like the one in Paris between Shaheen and Kemboi. You have to do something about his running before he jumps, he lose so much speed. He could run sub-7.40 with proper technique.
Shaheen is a real winner-type, he looked beaten today but came back like a true champion ALWAYS does. Want to see him race 5k in Helsinki as well.
