looking to propose in the next while, but i dont know anything about rings. what are some good online retailers to visit? i want to pay about 6-8k for the engagement ring, and was told you can get better deals online, certificates of authenticity, etc. help! |

As with so much that we buy, my husband and I got our engagement/weddings rings on amazon.com. We felt that we got a very good deal. It seemed like we got our rings for 50-60% of the cost elsewhere. We (I way more than my husband) were looking for price above all else. I would have liked a less expensive ring; he would have liked a more expensive one and all options were available. It was mostly about getting the right look for me and not the other stuff. |

I bought my wife's on Blue Nile and we couldn't be happier, in fact just today we were having dinner and people commented on her nice ring. I knew literally nothing about engagement rings before that and the process was so smooth on their website. |

I would urge you to check out this forum: http://www.pricescope.com/ You will get a better response if you post there. From what little I know: - White Flash - James Allen - Blue Nile - Good old Gold Personally, I would stay away from Blue Nile as they are not selling diamonds that they are actually in possession of and they will not be able to answer questions about the actual stone. In essence you are buying blind. If my fiancee had wanted a diamond I would probably have gone with white flash, but a lot depends on what they have in stock. |
