Wow should be a great race. I'd love to see a sub 3:48. |

Is there anyone you would want to see in this that is not already? (I am talking about current pro's) |

I'll call that stacked. All three London medalists are in that field. Plus some 5000 medalists. wow. I love olympic years. |

I like how the article talks about the worlds medalists all being aged 22, but mentions that Centro is a newcomer to the international scene. Youth running is so big in Kenya that their runners are ready to be pro often at age 18. Guys like Centrowitz were active youngsters, but still can't come close to Kenyan youth. Culture/altitude probably. |

Will any USA runners actually make the Bowerman Mile or will they all be in the International Mile? If they are only in the International Mile then it would be like the Olympic Trials race. Would they go by PB's or SB's for the Bowerman Mile? If by PB's, then Webb and Lagat would make it in, if by SB, then they wouldn't make it in and neither would people like Manzano etc |

Too bad they can't do rounds like practice for the Olympics. That's a huge field. |

Haha. I have to chuckle at the idea of alan going for a pr. It would be great to see him do it, but highly unrealistic based off his current fitness. Then again, who knows. Maybe (MAYBE) he'll be in sub 3:50 shape by then. Of course, we might see if things are truly starting to turn around for him at oxy this friday... |

It looks like it is the combined entries for both mile races - Bowerman mile and the International Mile. Apparently they still haven't divided the two up although obviously guys like Kiprop and Silas will run the Bowerman. |

I think the Americans that will be in the fast heat (Bowerman Mile) will be Centro, Lagat, Manzano and Lomong. Brown may be on the bubble. Torrence or Webb would have to have a big race before then to get into the fast section. Although, Webb may get in on name recognition by announcing him as the American Record holder. I could see Lomong going under 3:50 here. Maybe hitting 3:48 and change. |

Awesome startlist. The Bowerman Mile is always one of my favorite events, and this year won't be a disappointment. I could see a 3:47 maybe. I wish people would stop talking about the world record like they actually think it will happen. Let's not forget how bad PED abuse was in the late 90s. |
