I remember when Brian Hyde ran this in 1995. It was just as stunning. He beat Steve Holman in a small meet out of the blue. His best was a 3:59 mile. A year later Brian made the 1996 Olympic team. |

Hyde made the 1996 Olympic team because of that 3:35 at UNC in 1995. 5th at the Trials but the 2nd and 4th place finishers never hit the A standard. |

It's a last chance meet that lots DI teams go to. The meet is usually "magic" and there are a lot of fast times. The school may be DIII but the competition isn't. Also, Nick Willis was pacing. Sick race. |
