Pamela Jelimo took the world by storm in 2008 going undefeated, delighting fans with thoughts of a possible 800m WR, and running away with the 2008 Olympic 800m Gold medal. Miss Jelimo is back and easily grab the indoor World Championship title with a 1:58.8 and debuted outdoors with a 1:56.9. In comparison to her 2008 season (which she debuted outdoors 4 May) she debuted outdoors in 2012 nearly 2 seconds faster. Only 7 days apart in her debut but she's significantly faster and that's mainly due to her competition today; however, how do you think Pamela Jelimo season this year will compare to 2008's? Do you think she will run a personal best and crack sub 1:54? |

She could become one of the greatest 800 meters runners of all time if she would go sub 1:54 (Non-doped WR) and stay undefeated. But I feel like she ruined the legacy she could have had by having such a horrible past 3 years. I dream of her running 1:52 and running great through 2016 so that she is the star attraction at meets for years, however most likely she will run 1:54ish again this year and fade away into oblivion. |

She has been plagued by injuries that prevented her from training. Also in 2009 she made the mistake of appointing her new husband as her personal coach , despite the fact that he did not know what he was doing. That worsened her injury and fitness issues. |

Pamela Jelimo was the victim of her sudden rise to stardom and hailing from a country where her wealth and Olympic title made her a heroine. At the age of 19 she was atop of the world and not ready for such success and unfortunately she didn't handle her new status well. Miss Jelimo started refusing to train properly, then switch coaches, and then injuries plagued her for a couple years. Now Pamela Jelimo is back to training and she won't fade into oblivion as someone stated unless she loses focus because she have the talent to remain at the top of women's 800m for at least a decade and the ability to become a great 1500m runner. If Pamela can remain healthy in 2012 she can almost certainly threaten sub 1:55 this year; however, she will need perfect pacing and competition to threaten the world record and maybe another year of injury free and consistent training. My money still goes on Pamela Jelimo in the battle against Caster Semenya. I'm still waiting for the sub 1:53 some articles and posters have said Caster is capable of running after her 2009 season. |

Anyone know when the Russian National Champs are? With it being an Olympic year I wouldn't be surprised to see some crazy times from them. They had 10 women sub 2 last year and who knows what they've been up to since. I'll be expecting one of them to challenge Samenya & Jelimo. |

Top her undefeated season? Is she going to win more races than she starts this year? |

Trollist Actually Pamela Jelimo gonna lose one race and that's the campaign for the ugliest woman in American and that title goes to your mother/girlfriend! |

You actually think she's clean? How quaint. |

Quaint is when you mistake your mother's good night kiss on the forehead for more then what it is...! Pamela Jelimo just may go down as one of the greatest female 800m runners ever and without the support of negative posters like yourself. |

She is in shape to run between 1:51.3 and 1:51.6 |

I hope Pamela at least runs sub 1:54 even if it's just 1:53.99. The women's 800m WR needs to be broken by someone as it's been in the record books TOO LONG! |

Yes!!! Let's replace a doped-up Eastern European record with a doped-up Kenyan record! That'll show 'em!!! |

Is she doped up because she's faster than you? While I don't particular like Pamela Jelimo because of how she handle her coaching situation afte her fame there is no reason to think the talented young lady is on drugs. |

Pamela Jelimo destroys the field today and beats 2nd place Caster Semenya by over 2 seconds. Jelimo is the real deal and both will get faster later in the season but 2012 seems to belong to Jelimo unless the Russian 2011 World Champ can muster a challenge. Caster maybe running for Olympic bronze along with the Ethiopian and American. |

It would be great if Mariya Savinova returns to 2012 better then her 2011 season. She has improved every year since 2008 in the 800m: seasonal best 2011 1:55.87 Daegu 04/09/2011 2010 1:57.56 Eugene, OR 03/07/2010 2009 1:57.90 Moskva 01/07/2009 2008 2:01.07 Dessau 30/05/2008 2007 2:00.78 Chelyabinsk 14/07/2007 Pamela Jelimo has returned with a hint of her dominance from 2008 and hopefully can be challenged by Savinova. It would be nice if someone pushed her late in the season and possibly to sub 1:54. The women's 800m need a revision of it's All-Time top 10 list and hopefully an American female can finally crack the sub 1:56 barrier as well! |

2012 Olympics Pamela Jelimo vs. Caster Semenya (recalled) 2012 Olympics Pamela Jelimo vs. Mariya Savinoya (main attraction) Mariya may try to challenge Pamela but if Pamela stays healthy she really won't have any trouble winning Gold, right? |
