I was thinking about teaching English overseas next year and I'm trying to find a place where I can be happy for one or two years. One big component of my happiness would be being able to continue running at a competitive level. That being said, where would you all say is the best non-English speaking city for a distance runner? I'm trying to find a place where there are regular road races, training groups, and good places to train. Thanks.

I would think that Kenya would be a good place. Hook up with one of the training camps that develop young runners and you can teach them English to prepare them for US college or racing in the US. They probably teach it in school but a lot of the runners that come over don't have the best English skills.
I've never heard of anyone doing this though.

Japan, Korea, Taiwan are all good choices and I've run in all of them. Taiwan's climate is not the best, imo.

Korea seems like a good place with its running culture and plentiful jobs for English teachers.
