Are there any? Who are they? What has Charles Jock done this year @ Irvine? Does he have the A standard? Discuss.

Jock's time from the NCAAs last year was within the London qualifying window and it gives him the Olympic A, as it also does for Ryan Martin and Robby Andrews. Neither Jock nor Andrews has done as well as at the same time last year. But Jock was completely wasted after the NCAAs and USATFs, and had nothing left for the WC. They're trying to make adjustments this year, and we'll have to see if it works. Jock, Martin, Prebble, and Greer have run 1:46 this year.

its my understanding that robby is doing the same thng, trying to be ready when it counts. I remember hearing in an interview that vig's reasoning for why he crapped out at USAs was because he "needed one more month and 2 less races." robby is still in some pretty heavy aerobic training and has only raced twice but he has the A standard based off of ncaa's so he's okay.

jock has only run one 800 (correct me if im wrong) but it was his fastest season opener. this was all after (and i think during) aerobic training for jock as he was racing all those 1500's while doing 400's for some speed maintenance and work. since he has the a as well, he only needs to worry about being ready for the trials and has plenty of time to sharpen up. while he would love to get the ncaa title, he's shooting to make the team again and is looking great so far.

Doesn't sound like Jock will be on the team. I also don't expect KD to be on the team either.

Andrews and Symmonds probables.

Neither Jock nor Robby have yet gone as fast as they went at the same time last year. Jock ran 1:45-point at Mt Sac last year. Now maybe part of the reason that Jock didn't run as fast this year was that he was trying to get Duane Solomon to lead in the early part of the Mt Sac 800 this year, and Solomon simply didn't go out that fast.

Remember that fast time that Corey Primm ran at Oxy HP last year that excited everyone? After that he was basically cooked. That's what Jock and Robby don't want this year, so I think they're trying to not go faster than needed at the time and peak properly at the big dance(s). BTW Primm hasn't been heard from, but he's entered at Oxy HP again this year.

Is Jock going to outscore the entire UCLA men's team at NCAAs again this year? Last year it was 10-8 Jock (no kidding).

How did jock win 10-8 if he only scored 2nd at NCAAs?
