Got back from a short trip to the carribbean this weekend. Upon my arrival back in miami, customs officials commandeered my passport, sat me in a room full of illegalls for two hours, interrogated me about my background and then searched every inch of my luggage. They never said why or what they suspected me of. I kept asking if everything was OK and they just said yeah and kept interrogating me. WTF is up with the American police state these days? |

I never have, but a relative (via marriage) had a great run-in with a customs agent when it came to a grizzly bear penis... |
| what's your point? |

|
I don't really see your point. |

Maybe the part about when you said it was a 'short trip to the carribbean' was suspicious. Why travel all that way and not stay for close to a week? |
| woz up? |

how is that suspicious in any way? since when does trip duration have to be explained to moronic customs officials getting off on a power trip? i cringe every time i have to pass through American immigration and customs and (security at an American airport). Quite possibly the worst in the world. Definitely the worst out of the 50+ countries I've been to. |

A couple years ago I went to Niagara Falls, the Canada side, with a friend and his wife and daughter. I swear it was the nicest several hours of my life. Everybody from the Canadian border agents to the locals were the nicest people I ever met and it was a great experience. When we went to re-enter the United States the US border agents were the biggest dicks I ever met. We were obviously American and had no reason to cause suspicion. However this did not stop them from feeling it necessary to have two weapons trained on the car the entire time, a team of dogs sniff the car, two visual inspections of the inside of the car, and multiple lines of questioning about our background and what we were doing in Canada. And they were huge dicks the whole time. They "jokingly" asked my friend's wife if she was hiding a Cuban cigar up her butt. Nice. And we wonder why the world hates us? I hate us. |

that's the world we live in. the u.s. has criminalized being a muslim occupying traditional areas inhabited by islam for thousands of years for no apparent reason. middle east muslims are aryan whites, brown semites, brown mulattos, and black africans. afghan, iranian, syrian, russian, bosnian, and syrian muslims can be blonde haired, blue eyed, or green eyed. east asian muslims are chinese and pacific islanders. african muslims are black. central asian muslims are brown and black. in other words muslims come in all shades and sizes. any of us can be a muslim fighter with vilonet intentions including you and i. thus the tsa, ins, fbi, etc. must check every person regardless of appearence. |

I have to agree with this. I have always found the custom agents at airports to be very nice. But, try driving from Canada across one of the Niagara Falls bridges. The Canadian side agents are really nice and the US side ones are complete idiots. |

There is one guy on here who has nothing better to do than ruin every thread he clicks on by whining about US treatment of Palestinians. |

white folks and meditteranean folks have to be thoroughly searched since the active islamic freedom fighters are semitics and caucasians. |

I went to Canada a few years back for a day. On the way in we got a little bit of questioning but on the way back nothing. We stopped gave our ID's (license only, guy didn't as for passports), he asked if we had anything to declare. We told him a couple cases of beer, he laughed and said, "That's it?" and sent us on our way. Thought it was funny, we were taking the tunnel back into Detroit, maybe it's just me but I thought this would be a lot more scrutinized border crossing. |

being a local who crosses at one of the 3 public bridges in the area 2-3x per month, i felt obliged to put in my 2 cents... never had anything like this happen to me, save for the routine "spot checks" and this random vehicle x-ray thing they do every now and again. 9/10 times they let me right through... |
