Is the Nike LunarSpeed Lite the same as the LunarSpider LT? 5/7/2012 10:43AM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
I know that there was a lightweight trainer introduced on the Japanese market known as the LunarSpider LT (the LT standing for lightweight trainer). I have seen some pictures of that shoe, as well as the recent US shoe debuting here as the LunarSpeed Lite. The outsoles appear the same, and the upper has some very different colorways but looks mostly (though not exactly) the same. Does anyone with some experience with both shoes care to comment? Are they the same shoe with just a different release name, or are they two separate shoes?

Both shoes are very similar with the main difference being stability. Lunar Spider LT is neutral and Lunar Speedlight offers more stability via Dynamic Support (as on Lunarglide and Lunar Fly).

10mm offsets on both and weight right around 7.5 ounces (size 9). The ride is on the firm side as compared to soft Lunaracer but very responsive.

Hope this helps

The upper is not durable at all. Nike has used a cheap "stick on" like material that peels off. Its mostly just asthetic but still came off after 2 runs, sent them back and got the LunarSpider LT.

Not the same. I have both and in a size 12 The LunarSpider LT is a full ounce lighter than the Lunarspeed Lite.
