ITs always like that with the black community. The reason for the disgust is that before these guys made it big, a black woman was good enough for them. Once they become famous, they HAVE to have a white woman. Thats the reason for a lot of disgust with black athletes who go from nothing to something. Of course local folks there are gonna be like well couldn't he find a local girl - what local girls not good enough anymore. They may even throw in the fact that she's white but I suspect it is because she is not Jamaican why some local people there may have a problem with it. BTW one of my best friends is Jamaican and...he's ethnically white but when he speaks he has that distinct Caribbean lilt. There are apparently a lot of white/mixed Jamaicans who live on the island so I bet it is not really a race issue. |
