Here are some key workouts from the past month and a half: 3/15: 4x4 w/ 5 min. recovery (52.6, 53.3, 53.4, 53.4) 4/10: 3(3x3) w/ 45s rest during sets and full recovery in between (43.1, 43.6, 44.0 / 41.8, 43.3, 43.0 / 43.3, 43.6, 39.6). I wore spikes on the last set only. 4/24: 10x2 w/ 90s rest (200 jog) (25.1, 26.2, 25.8, 26.0, 25.5, 25.2, 25.4, 25.6, 25.3, 25.5) 5/4: 600 TT in 1:15.9. Looking to run fast over the course of the next couple of months. What can I run in an 800? Thanks for the thoughts! |

I would have to guess your in 1:46-1:48 shape depending on how strong you are. Very solid training though, a lot of speed though, do you do any distance work? |

That 1:15.9 is impressive over the rest of these workouts, except maybe that last set of 300s. Probably 1:46.75-1:46.0 in the right race. 1:15.X indicates as such for pretty much any type of non-400m specialist runner. |

Thanks for the input. Any more thoughts? |

You are ready to pop a big one: 1:44.3 |

Haha, I'd take it! |

Damn, dude. These are great 800 workouts. I'd say 1:44.X at best and 1:47.X on a bad day/if you're a mental case on race day. I'm more curious to know who you are. You have to be a top collegiate or in one of the elite MD post-collegiate groups. What's your PR? |

ACTF09 - I am not completely sure if you are being serious, but, if you are, thanks for the compliments! I have run 1:47-mid in the past. Hopefully looking to progress on that this year. I am not part of any of the elite MD groups, but I do train with another guy. |

1:52. I added 5 seconds for doing those workouts and still feeling the need to start a "guess my time" threads. By doing so I am guessing you are feeling insecure and feel something is missing. So you tell us, what do you think you can run? What's missing? Curious why you would not race after workouts like those. Or is it you are slower than you think and thus are posting here. |

I don't know....it is just kind of fun to come on here and post to see what people think. My racing season is actually just about to start picking up again. |

I'll give you 1.47-48 if you fall apart in the last 200m. 1.45 low if it's your day. Take that for what you will. |

I'm being dead serious, man. Without seeing your full training, of course most of it is just hopeful guessing, but with all that speed, I've gotta believe you've got a chance to pop something pretty big. I feel like 800 runners that come at it more from the speed side than the strength side are the loose cannons because if you're on, you might just run a crazy time and if you're off, you suffer big time. |

You forgot to mention the 800m race that you ran "somewhere" about one month ago. Just helping you out here... It's tough to remember all of that... Please remind us of the time and provide us more details of the race... It will help people in predicting your time. |

Thanks for the confidence ACTF09. For the other poster, I did open with a 1:48.high race about a month ago. |

You remember every 200m and 400m in training to the tenth (or even hundreth) of a second, but you do not recall the tenth of a second of a race? Where was it? |
