The annual OXY Invite will be this SAT May 5th. There look to be some outstanding races at all distances. i am including a link to the heat sheets so you can check - I think that Flashwest is doing the timing. Running events start at 3pm (?) http://www.oxyathletics.com/sports/mtrack/2011-12/files/OxyInvite2012MeetProg.htm |

decent looking 1500. Hesch, Horn, Hacker, not sure about the rest of the field. Didn't edwards win irvine last week? 3:45 again? winner should be close to a time that might make the trials, but i bet it doesn't go under 3:40 |

Most interesting eent in the meet:
People who think 400h athletes should make good 800 runners....well, here's your chance. |

Both are in LA now. One went from Kersee to John Smith and one (or maybe both) is with Factory Elite now. Factory Elite is Mo Greene's operation, actually located in Westlake Village, 30 miles west of LA. He's picking up sprinters as well as football players. |

He's training out at RCC and this is his first year at that distance. Not too bad at all. |

Note Ryan Bailey entered in the 100. I have been watching him the past 3 weeks on relays and he is ready to throw down a quick time in the 100 I suspect. |

$13 USD to watch a crappy stream of the meet... This is why our sport is dying. |

Lets be realistic here. There are two major meets running this weekend, in Jamaica and Japan. Most of the big guns in the sprints are in one or the other. The fact that Ryan Bailey is not means that either the race directors don't think he's good enough or John Smith doesn't think he's ready. Oxy is about the fastest place around for mid distance, but it is still a rekortan track and definitely not Mt. Sac for sprints. I think the fastest time on the track is 10.06. I don't think he'd be racing there if people thought we was really as fast as Rodgers (at least). |

Actually maybe its because Bailey has not trained in 5 months before 3 weeks ago & Smith & Bailey agreed he needed a low key race to return to action in without sacrificing too much travel time so he can train. His agent is Mark Wetmore so he has no trouble getting into a big meet. He is actually slated to race in Puerto Rico next week if all goes well. But you can go ahead & doubt why he is entered at Oxy. |

johnson (400m hurdler) runs 1:46.5 to win easily... bailey runs 10.01 (+0.7)... oops. |

The oops goes to the Oregon Trash that had billed Bailey as some sort of monster. Some had even said that Walter Dix (with 4 medals) wasn't even the best sprinter in his own training group. So this monster who apparently the main pro meets didn't want finally runs a race. 10.01 is good, but it just makes him one of a bunch of people lined up behind Dix, Gatlin, maybe Rodgers and Salaam. He would have to beat out all of Rodgers, Salaam, Patton, Demps, Kimmons, and several more to earn a spot on the Olympic team. More bullshit boasting from the Oregon Trash. |

he ran 10.01 on the "slow" oxy track... |

So why the hate for Bailey coach D? All I said was he was ready to throw down a fast time in the sprints. I do believe a 10.01 to be a fast time especially at Oxy as you yourself stated. Why you feel the need to say Oregon Trash? You are the one who looks foolish in this discussion. |
