I'm defending my (former) sport. Runners are stereotyped as weakling milquetoasts and that sort of photo helps counter that misinformed opinion. I can't rightly use myself as an example because when I ran (4-5 yrs ago) I was 6'3" and 150lbs. I've since put on 65 pounds of muscle and made a few meathead friends along the way. Go figure. |

Here's the thing. Runners train to be effective movers. Excess muscle doesn't help distance runners achieve that. Concerning Webb, he has actually been trying to "demusclefy" himself to improve himself as a mover/runner. Just because someone can't "see" a runner's strength (which lies in his various energy systems), doesn't mean there is no strength to be seen. Maybe try to get some of these concepts across to your meathead homeys. |

Individually the wrong photos aren't that funny, but even I'll admit that several of them in a row makes it pretty funny. I'm sure Rupp wishes that picture was never taken. |
