You should just not be allowed to post anymore. Why is he let in? Oh i don't know, maybe it's the 13:03 NR he ran in the 5k last September, or the 60:49 half he ran last year. He finished 7 of 8 5k's last year, the one he didn't finish being one that was above his head. He also went 13:26 NR at Carlsbad this year which was his fastest showing of the 3 he had done. Other than that, can't imagine why they would let him into this race..... |

i read an article last year and salazar said he thought rupp could break 13 minutes. but when did he say 12:45 if (a huge if) rupp can run 12:45 he should be favored in any 5/10km race he runs. |

----------------------------------------------- I agree it's unlikely both of them will run. I think it's more likely Rupp will run....probably with a mask. I'd say there's a 75% chance Rupp will run. Ritz evidently hurt his toe and will likely be placed on IR for the remainder of the season a la Solinsky.

C'est bien dit. Bonsoir, mon ami. |

Lagat should be in this race! his chances of winning are far greater than in the mile I think. Also how come Lagat has never made an attempt at winning diamond league? |

Mrr82- well at least that poster doesn't lie about being one number off from $200 million. |

Maybe this will be the moment when Bekele passes the torch to Alamirew. I see Alamirew getting the win here. |

this will be fast. winner 12:52 or so. A slew of runner sub 13 (Rupp, Ritz, Teg and of course the Africans) |
| Muumuu |

Let me guess......he's focused on the Olympics? He thinks early June just a little too early to be in top shape? Methinks that whatever happens Pre 5000 that Lagat will be ready to contend in August..... |

Because he has a 13:03 PR that he set less than 8 months ago. That's a faster PR than Rupp. Yes he drops out of a ridiculous amount of races, not giving him a pass at all, but when he's on he is fantastic. |

Cragg will go 12:57 or so. |

I can't help but think to myself how bizarre it is that this moron doesn't think that Cragg should be allowed in big meets. Oh shoot, did I just say that aloud? |

Teg will run very well. He always does at Pre. Mottram will be up there too. |
| Cynical. |

Crazy good field. Here's hoping no one drops out beforehand. |

Rupp has no chance at 12:45. Let me guess. The same salazar that told you guys rupp will beat lagat at US indoor champs for 3000m. We all know how that turned out. |
| chauncey |

Salazar never said that. In fact, he was quite candid and realistic about Rupp's chances of beating Lagat. "He won't concede anything to Lagat," was about the closest he came to telling "us guys [that] Rupp will beat Lagat." |

Except that Salazar did not tell anyone that Rupp would beat Lagat at US indoor champs for 3000m. Other than that one little detail your argument holds up quite well. |
