besides being a vegetable, it shouldn't affect you that much. You might have to back down your mileage for a little while.

You probably won't over-think your training and your anxiety level during races will probably go down.

As the rowers say, "No brain, no pain."

One of the possible side-effects of a lobotomy is post-operative incontinence. So you may run faster times, not having to worry about stopping to pee during a race. But make sure you drill holes through the soles of your shoes so the urine can drain out, otherwise you run an increased risk of blisters. (Of course, do that BEFORE Thursday.)

As with any other surgical procedure, make sure your doctor is experienced AND successful in that procedure. You want a lobotomist who can handle an ice pick and a mallet, and knows his way around an eye socket.

Good luck! I'd ask you to update us after the surgery, but we all know that won't happen. Heh-heh-heh.

People could really run some sick times if they could remove the portion of the brain that creates fear, doubt and makes you run inhibited.

Just do what your doctor says. With me I just had to take a couple of days off until the swelling went down and laid off the speedwork for a couple of weeks. It might help to put some ice on it.
