dunno about the 10k, but he's good at 800, very good at 1500 and potentially great at 5k. I hope he tries the 5k more often, if not for this Olympics then the next. Not as good as Webb was in his prime, but probably the best range this year. |

I think Rupp's range is better: Mile 3:56.22iOT 2 Mile 8:09.72i AR 5000m 13:06.86 10000m 26:48.00 Half Marathon 1:00:30 He could definitely be an Olympic Trials finalist in the 1500m, and could be national champion in anything from 3000m up to the half marathon and possibly the marathon. |

Lomong's 5k should not be too surprising when you look at what he has been doing since H.S. Keep in mind that lomong was a very good H.S. and NCAA XC runner. He started focusing on the 800/1500 becasue at the elite level you can only work on 2 events. Now that he running 5ks, he will probably drop the 800. Btw, if you even out his last 2 laps yesteday, he probably would have run around 13:08. I know it is little early to start talking about it but, in a tactical championship type 5k race, he could be very dangerous and I'm not just talking about on a national level. |

Geb's range is ridiculous as well. I can't say that Webb's range is truly one of a kind, but it is extremely rare. The person I was referring to in my previous post was Bekele. Even though his 1500m PR is 3:32, I have to believe that if he trained for it, he would go sub 3:30. Webb has really done it all except win a championship. He's done well on the track, on the roads, and in xc. He is a very very unique and special runner. He's obviously not at his best right now, but with his gift, there is always hope.
