Last year Mary Cain ran 4:17 and 9:28 for those distances...not exactly a comparison. And not every high school frosh star has the speed/strength combo that Cain has (very rare runner). And it's still a bit early to say "next Mary Cain" when she's just a sophomore... |

There are other girls out there that can run those times. Not all girls get to run for their schools. I know someone who would be able to run with just about any girl her age and she does it on a lot less mileage! I think it might be a curse to have success and be known on these running websites. |

have people forgotten daesha rogers? well, i guess since she's not in high school yet, she doesn't show up on a lot of people's radar if they live outside of florida. if she can keep progressing, i could see her running sub 2 minutes in high school one day, if not in middle school. but, assuming she hasn't reached puberty yet, and puberty handicaps her temporarily, her times will probably hover in the low 2's. it all depends on how her body responds. does anyone know if her parents were really good well known athletes? |

Don't know if you are referring to Cain or Topham. Rebekah is part of her high school team. She has been trained through the years by her dad who is the assistant coach. |
