I will be at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo for a conference tomorrow and would like to get a track workout in. I looked up the school's meet schedule and it looks like they have a meet at the Cal Poly track. Is there anywhere else within runnable distance that I can go to (within 2-3 miles)?

The local HS (San Luis Obispo High School) has a dirt track. It is about 1.5m away on San Luis Drive. Don't know if there is anything going on there.

no reason not to drive out to cuesta college, it's only 4mi north/west on hwy 1, heading to morro bay. wonderful track and plenty soft. also great grass field right next to it to warm up on.

pretty much. slim chance of having to hop the fence, butalmost always open on the far end of the track.
