Hah! Guilty as charged, apparently. In my defense, I don't listen to any broadcast radio, except a bit of NPR (and now I sound even older...) |

I always thought DMV stood for DelMarVa, as in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia. That's how I've heard it used. Delmarva peninsula. |

Have you ever been to Arlandria, Woodbridge, Manassas, or any of the other ethnically similar places in NOVA? It's no picnic.

If you want to talk cesspool, go to the intersection of New Hampshire Ave and University Blvd. It's become a third world ghetto. |

Lots of rappers say it. It's short for representing. I represent this area, etc Get it? |

nobody actually says DMV. in other areas is real popular to identify where youre from by its area code. i hate that. "omg. 3 finals left then flying to the 870" and to people who think "the DMV" is a dump. its arguably the most wealthy area in the world |
| haha yo Simon |

if it includes all areas of Virginia then no |

I used to get all worked up over the trolls here who call NoVA / DC a dump. I now find it funny. Yes- wear a bullet proof vest on my runs, and do my hill workouts up a mound of trash. Please stay away. We already have enough fat tourist who stand on escalators and who block the sidewalks when I am trying to get my evening run in. |

I grew up in Arlington, only moved away quite recently, and have also never heard anyone use the expression reppin the DMV. Also, I would argue that there are pretty considerable differences between the constituent parts of the metro area. Even Arlington and Fairfax are fairly dissimilar. Still, I think people who live in contrasting areas like Bladensburg or Alexandria still have an idea of what the area as a whole is like. I also find it weird that a lot of people say DC is a dirty or a boring city. Honestly, as stupid as it sounds, I think people think it's not exciting because it doesn't have any skyscrapers. I guess there isn't as unified of an entertainment district as in some other cities. |

What, you got beef with Cleveland PArk? Don't mess with him, guy is prob a lawyer and gets "drinks" on weekdays at Cleveland Park bar & grill but ventures to upper g-town on the weekend, I bet he also has a dog and sometimes goes to Nationals games with other lawyers /DC RULES |

4P's you must be pissed that your favorite bar is closing and becoming a crappy McFaddens. Go out for drinks? I don't venture out into this cesspool pool of a city. I stay home and drink alone... all along trolling on LRC with my 50 cats. Why would you think that I have a dog? |

Agreed. I went to college with a fair number of people from Northern Virginia and never heard them say "DMV". I have heard of the DelMarVa Peninsula though. Since we're talking about DC though, why can't you buy beer in a convenience store there? It's ridiculous, especially when every bar has a cover. |
