I am glad she resisted trying to run2:17 today. It was important for her to bring a Marathon home nicely after New York. Well done.

1:36 into the race Kipsang is trying to push ahead again on the men's side.

Now 1:37:30 into he's 20 meters clear.

He keeps this up I think he'll get the WR but i need to do the math.

incredible splits for Mary in those last stages, not most men will close like that. Kudos to the Kenyan women.

A spectatulor new Kenyan national record for Ketinay. 459 24th, 502 25th mile. Ridiculous.

Edna Kiplagat also under 2:20.

Men's race. Kipsang has made a move in 21st mile and broken clear. It wasn't a whole lot faster - 441.
But he's a little bit clear now.

430 - 14th_

444 - 16th
442- 17th
442 - 18th

444 - 20th

Did anyone get mile 15 or 19?

Kipsang is 1:42:47 at 35km thanks to a 448 22nd mile.

That's 2:03:54 pace.

2:03:38 pace is basically 4:43 mile pace so he needs to stay on it to break 2:04.

Kirui and Kipsang are locks for the Olympics if he come home 2:03/2:04, no doubt.

But I don't want to pick #3.

Kipsang well clear at 23. Him versus the clock. Kirui has a gap of 10 meters over third. Posted from the course.
