Makau feels like an outsider. Remember when Kipsang said before Frankfurt marathon last year that he was going for Makau's then barely one month old world record, Makau felt disrespected and made it known in a news conference to the media. After failing just short of breaking that record, Kipsang sounded a verbal warning that Makau's World record was living on borrowed times. Everyone in the race safe for Makau is from the Rift Valley. |

I knew it! The way he was running indicated he was not in the race to finish. He kept talking to Emanuel Mutai during those "surges" and I was wondering what he was telling him. G. Mutai dropout in Boston was due to adverse weather. Makau's on the other hand is with no reason. |

No WR with all pacers gone. If pacers would have taken them at that pace until 30k, Kipsang would get the WR. But by himself, noway. But he seems determined to win this thing. So say 2:04:07 for the Win. |
