It is rather dark to discern the leaders, but it appears that that the eventual winner is sleeping soundly now. The eventual second-place finisher just got up to relieve himself. This may have been a costly move. |

Everyone's ignoring Wilson Kipsang, but I'm calling him FTW in London. You heard it here first. Also, I have a theory that Geoffrey Mutai didn't even want to make the Olympics. He rather save himself for a big pay day in the fall or something. Did he plan to drop out? No, I'm not going to go that far. But did he get to 30k, realize he wasn't feeling it and wasn't going to win and then decide to throw in the towel...maybe. Either way he had a quote saying he wasn't too upset about it and I really don't think he is. I think he wanted an excuse not to run the Olympics. |

Yeah, man, he saved himself for a big payday by blowing another big payday. |

Why do people insist on saying "you heard it here first" when the prediction they're making is neither bold nor original. Listen, KIPSANG HAS A 2:03:42 MARATHON, the second-fastest legal time ever. Predicting him to win any marathon on this planet is not a "you heard it here first" level prognostication. In a similar vein, Yohan Blake is going to win the 200 in London. YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST. |

weather is good it is 65F currently with no rain forecast i think it'll be about 70F by race time conditions perfect for fast times the kenyans may want a tactical race as the top 2 will go to games, so all they want is to win the sprint amongst themselves however, thankfully, the ethiopians need 2"04-low clockings to get into the team, so the kenyans will have to run fast as well as eyeing a tactical battle anyone know what pacers have been asked for ? |

irina mititenko is getting old. if she has bad run today hopefully it encourage her to quit before olimpics. |

above meaning, ethiopians need to chase the clock & not so much the win if 3 of them get 2"04-flat, they will likely all go to games, even 3rd of them |

in the interview I heard this morning a 1:01.30 at half way is what they expect. |

That's 15 degrees too warm for a perfectly fast marathon.

61'30 is too quick london is fast course, but not 2"03'00 for these guys ( for jeff mutai, yes, but not makau/kipsang ) there will be some horrible deaths if they follow that 61'45 - 62'00 woud be better request |

55F seems a bit too cold to run an ideal M i think kenyans prefer slightly warmer weather to european-types for M |

It's not as warm as that, currently around 8°C but the sun is gradually warming up. Max temp I would guess 12° as we get toward noon. (that's 46-54°F) |

It's do or die for the Ethiopians kind of like throw 4 eggs at a wall and which ever ones don't crack make the Olympics. |

According to David Monti it's 61:45-62:00 for the men and 69:15-69:30 for the women. |
