Have you taken photos at marqee running events, been to Kenya, or ran for a top-flight college team? I need your help. I'm writing a booklet for high school runners about basic training methods and I need a few photographs for the inside pages. I will pay you (modestly) for permission to use your photo, and you will be credited, of course. If you have a website or portfolio, I will include a link to that at the end of the booklet. I need three different photos, fitting the following characteristics: *A side shot of a reasonably accomplished runner—ideally female—during a track race, preferably an 800 or 1500. The caption will say something along the lines of "National/Big 10/whatever Champion So-and-So running the 1500m, an event that relies heavily on anaerobic respiration." *A group of Kenyans running in Kenya. Yes, they have to be Kenyans, and yes, they ought to be in Kenya, although if you have a picture of a group of Ethiopians in Ethiopia, that would work too. *A group of runners from a reasonably well known college team doing a long run, or at least running on a road or trail. The caption will say something like "runners from the University of Whatever on a long run in Wherever, XX." If your pictures are "old school" (i.e. from the '60s/'70s), all the better. Needless to say, you must have either taken these photos yourself or own the copyright to them in order for them to qualify. You will retain the rights to the image, so if you want to sell it or use it elsewhere, you'll be free to do that. What you'll be allowing me to do is publish them in my booklet, which will be posted online for free and available in hard copy for a nominal fee to cover printing/mailing. I expect to make little to no money on this booklet, so think of it more as an an easy payday or an opportunity for exposure & portfolio-building more than anything else. If you think you've got a photo or photos that would qualify, send me an email and we'll talk business. There also may be more opportunities for you in the future, as I have a few other booklets in the works. |
