Styx. My first album was a Styx album. The only thing I can come close to hearing from them now is Mr. Roboto if I've first had a few beers and that is only because it is so ridiculously cheesy Devo is another band from that era that sounds crazy lame when I hear any of their stuff now. I'm going to pitch out Led Zepplin, certainly to the chagrin of many. Some of their wizzardy, lord of the ringsy stuff just sounds stupid, while other songs have held up great and still other songs had me reaching to change the station from the first moment I heard 'em. I'm ashamed to say that I used to really enjoy The Mentors....even saw them in concert once....what a sad and confused young man I must have been. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQpZKWX--5o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JxXpL-Pl30Q&feature=related |

The answer for me is none. I had great taste as an adolescent and discovered Hendrix early on. |

Metallica. Go back and listen to the production on "One." The drum sounds make me laugh now. Incredibly weak. |

You mean that your taste hasn't changed since you were 12.

Some of their more obscure songs are pretty good. |

I'll toss in another Limp Bizkit. Total frat boy rap-rock.. however I will confess to enjoying their cover of George Michael's "Faith". It's still on my iPod. |

that's kind of funny because the first band I thought of when I saw the thread title was Weezer. I still like green days early stuff, and like MCATIS from time to time. Can't really do STP anymore. I did like Creed in high school, now they suck (or they always sucked and I just realize it now). RHCP was one of my favorite bands for a long time. But I still like BSSM and earlier stuff, the stuff they did in the 80's was fun and different. |

Offspring. Though to be fair, they started making much crappier music, which is why I stopped listening to them. |

I still blast the shit out of Offspring's "Self Esteem" when it comes on the radio. I also sometimes roll down the windows and yell the lyrics. Haha |

Offspring 'Self Esteem' - me too, crank it every time Styx was also my first album, I can still enjoy it, barely. But, just this morning I had a thought about The Police and went and found some stuff on youtube. You rarely hear it, but I think their music holds up really well. |

For what it's worth, I think this is a mischaracterization; I was in a frat and can't remember Limp Bizkit ever being played in our house or any of the others. We listened to a lot of Pavement, Sonic Youth, and Fugazi, though--all of which still hold up for me. Where I was, Limp Bizkit was music for people who didn't know music and/or wannabe jocks. |

If you weren't listening to Limp Bizkit in your "frat," it wasn't a real frat. |

Um... Just because you were in what appears to be the coolest frat ever, doesn't mean you are correct. I am from the South, so when I think "frat rock" I think Jam Bands like Panic and Phish, as well as Southern Rock. Most NorthEast frats are all about shit like OAR and Limp Bizkit. |

Nothing is worse than a Northeastern frat boy. Losers with gelled hair, cargo shorts and backwards hats. At least Southern frat boys are true to their roots with the whiskey drinking, fishing, beaver slaying, etc. Northeastern frat boys are just embarrassing. |

anyone want to throw the Smiths under the bus? There may be another more overrated band, but I can't think of one. |

Kid Rock. A cheap Limp Bizkit type to country hill billy rocker? I'm so ashamed of myself. |
