What was odd about it was for the first 10 or 11 it was warm but not that bad. I was able to keep somewhat comfortable then around 11 to 16 it felt a lot warmer. Maybe the wind was a side wind and then was behind our back and we didn't get any relief? I don't know. But for about 5 or 6 miles there it felt a lot warmer. I don't know if it was accurate but in the last couple miles we ran past a bank and it had an electronic sign that read 86 degrees. It was a draining energy warm but I never really felt like I was baking out there. I had no chance to run fast and backed off early so I may have not felt as much as other who tried to push through it. I took the time to go through a lot of the hoses and spraying fire hydrants and water tents and if I was pushing it for time I might not have and that would have made it feel a lot warmer too. |
