This is why no matter what Rojo proposes and what networks/sites do to 'fix' the problem, no one will watch a marathon for 2 hours plus except us nuts.
On the off chance that you're actually serious, wouldn't going out at maybe, I don't know, 2:14 pace be a better way for a c.2:20 marathoner to make a major breakthrough?

Randall has GUTS baby! That's what it's about. You nutless losers pacing yourself to a 2:35, whoopdie doo. Randall pushed and can say he led the Boston Marathon for a quarter of the race. He may die but the only way to make major breakthroughs is to go out at 2:07 pace when you are no better than a 2:20 marathoner. That's how it works, it's all about GUTSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!

Men split 1:06:xx for the half. Second half is going to be ridiculous! Nice to he Hartmann up there.
I actually feel bad for Randall, he is going to get passed by hundreds of runners. 5K from 15 to 20: 19:02.

2:22 isn't much of a breakthrough for a 2:20 marathoner. At least he can say he led the race.
brojos: I will give $10 to your favorite charity if you get Randall for an interview.

I pointed out that JK didn't say they would run 2:08:30, he said they could if they ran hard from the start.
In 2004, it was in the 80s the hole race and they ran like 2:10:40 or something. Well the weather is at least a minute better today and men's marathoning has progressed by a minute since 2004 as well.
So 2:10:40 - 2 = 2:08 mid.
I think a 63 second half is possible if they'd run but it looks like it may just be a 10k at the end.
Boston Logan (water around it) is showing 69 as of 10:53. It will get cooler and cooler as they get into the city, I think.
Hell no, put time in the BANK! Going out like a sissy at 2:14 pace is idiotic if you want a breakthrough, you're going to fade in a marathon, that's the nature of the event, give yourself some serious cushion baby and have some GUTS! I understand most people on here are nutless and can't fathom actually making themselves hurt but true champions like Mr. Randall are prepared for that pain.
