16 guys I'd like to see on the starting line at the Dream Mile:

Andres Arroyo (FL)
Andrew Gardner (WA)
Bernie Montoya (AZ)
Brad Nye (UT)
Brannon Kidder (OH)
Craig Engels (NC)
Darren Fahy (CA)
Drew Magaha (PA)
Ed Cheserek (NJ)
Erik Harris (ID)
Jacob Burcham (WV)
Joe Hardy (WA)
Korey Krotzer (WA)
Marcus Dickson (WA)
Nick Hartle (NV)
Ryan Silva (AZ)

All 16 have gone sub-4:10 for 1600m or equivalent 1500m/mile marks, or have great 800m speed AND have run well (just not quite sub-4:10) at 1600/mile/1500m.

Sure, Cheserek would win in the end (he's the only sub-4 capable guy this year IMO), but it would be great to see how close guys like Dickson, Magaha, and Nye could get.

Just to throw his name out there since this is a thread on him, but you don't have Nowak on that list. Interesting. I agree with all your list and all, but I would have included him.

I didn't realize until after I posted that that he wasn't included (because he hadn't run that fast for 1600/mile yet this spring), but he is another one that has the credentials to be in there as well (though I think Dickson, Magahara, Nye and of course Cheserek would be the top 4... Montoya, Arroyo and Nowak would all be in the mix for fifth). Luis Guiterrez is another should be included. I'm sure I'm missing a couple others... probably some more Texans and Californians -- there are quite a few good milers in those two states.

I would also put Ben Malone on that list considering he beat Drew Magaha and can probably go a lot faster.
