Oh gaw. Tracy ? that guy from USC and Elite Racing / RnR ?
I hope he isn't dumb enough to take a flunky job as a rubber stamp for the Hightower / Chaplain tag team cluster eff.
The way USATF is setup the CEO is a dickless eunuch.
The volunteer board of directors wield ultimate power and micro manage day to day operation sticking their noses into everything for the travel perks.
At least Tracy should make it a temp job and work as an enabler to re-locate HP and LDR to offices to West L.A./Hollywood the center of the global televison and entertainment industry.
But Tracy should limit the contract to 2 years and absolutely get the HELL out of USATF after his contract is over.
I agree about moving the offices to a media center city like LA or NYC
Sundlun/Hightower/Chaplin deserve each other. Why not just shoot the damn horse?
lets hope he remembers to bring the wind gauge to the national championships (unlike the 91 meet at randalls)
He is however passionate, knowledgeable, hardworking and deserving.
I remember him screwing people out of their prize money at races back in the 80's. He'd probably fit right in with Hightower and company.
Tracy wants to start a USA Professional Track League. Great idea.
he'd be the only competent person at usatf
Then he should seek an investor like Falcon Capital to start that league. USATF is a national governing body.
Tracy will start the pro league as USATF CEO if he gets the job after he consolidates High Performance and Long Distance Running at new offices in Century City.
The meet as Randalls was fine , they pulled it off with a 24/7 attitude to get it done.
He would do a great job. Hope he gets it. I have known Tracy over 25 years. He was very effective in running the MAC association in NYC back in the eighties. There were many foundation grants in place that were subsequently lost after his tenure by the people who tried to fill his shoes. Of course he had his detractors, but that is always a by product of moving aggressively.
