Root canal and running 3/27/2012 7:16PM Reply | Return to Index | Report Post
Has anyone ever had a root canal and then tried running later that same day? I am having one tomorrow but didn't want to take the day off. Thanks for any insight anyone has.

Simple solution is to run in the morning but I wouldn't worry about it. Root canal is not a big deal IMO.

Good luck

You should be able to run after a root canal. It may be sore, but shouldn't be too big a deal.[quote]dentistry wrote:

Why not? You can eat right after foot surgery. LOL

You should be fine. Root canals aren't that bad. In fact, if you need one, it is usually a relief to get the procedure done.

Once it is done, I would say the pain tends to be similar to a crown or major filling. It is mostly due to the trauma of surrounding areas, especially since the nerve is gone.

I had one done in the early morning, came home for a nap, ate a bit and then went out for an easy run.
