Ya, I put in a reasonably good base over the winter but Im not the most talented runner and I still lag behind. Im considering dropping my mileage by 10-20% so I can run better workouts... since I am not fast enough to score at conference (we are in a good conference) my "season" won't be very long so I need to just hold form for <2 months... it is frustrating that I worked at it and made the team but now I am just so far behind. I plan to train like a mad man over summer though.

If you need help post your e-mail. Maybe someone will help you with your problems. Don't try to play coach over the summer.

I used to be the slowest guy on my high school team. Started freshman year running about a 9:30 miler, and not being able to run a step more. Then I worked my butt off for 3+ and now I've run 4:36, and still improving. Moral of the story, work hard.
