Ah relief, I thought it was going to be the cyclist Michael Rodgers. Just a no name sprinter. No surprise he is American tho...

9.85 is nothing to sneeze at

achoo
He never went 9.85--and if he did, he did it in one heck of a wind.
He went 9.98, when you add the "Eugene 13"
See my post here:

Similarly, that scumbag Mullings went 9.93, and Patton went 10.14
At his best, Rodgers is low-mid 10.0x with no wind, mid-9.9x with medium wind, and low 9.9x with strong wind.

Who cares he's a doper

He should have used the, "My sample wasn't delivered in a timely manner and the methylhexaneamine magically appeared in my urine sample" excuse.
Only problem with that is his skin color and religion. He's got the right hair though.
wtf is this crap? Eugene is way slower than Rieti. Its even slower than Beijing AND Berlin.
Its about as fast as Paris or Manaco, maybe a little faster. Its on the fast end but its not that fast.
Are you trying to say that he didn't run 9.85, or that Oregon is a short track or something?
Because the IAAF has him at 9.85 with a legal wind (1.3). Regardless, he was US champion and has a bunch of top 6 finishes at worlds. He's not some nobody, and obviously should know better than to use unknown stimulants.
When it comes to stimulants and PED's in over the counter easy to get supplements and health foods (that kids use btw) accidents can happen.
LaShawn is a good example, but I think he was using DHEA systemically to derive a long term performance enhancement and is lying about his purpose for usage. I think he derived benefit from DHEA for multiple seasons and deserved at least a 2 year ban, if not a ban from the Olympics as well.
Rodgers (not the discount double check) was not seeking long term systemic enhancement but short term boost that he could have gotten from a Red Bull or a Coffee and thought this product was similar and he probably assumed wrongly that this product was no different. For that he only gets 9 months.
Rodgers probably didn't know what he was doing and is just stupid. LaShawn definitely knew what he was doing and is just playing stupid.
You should feel a lot less sorry for these guys once you realize they make easy 6 figures and have the brains of a mole.
I'm a little confused.
So Rodgers intentionally took this as a PED?
But this substance is also available in some-what common goods, so a 100% clean athlete could start taking it unknowingly?
So a 100% dirty athlete could start taking it knowingly and blame it on a substance that is available in some-what common goods?Cheers!

Rodgers provided independent corroborating evidence that his positive drug test resulted from the use of the supplement known as Jack3d several days prior to a competition. Jack3d has been implicated in positive tests involving several athletes and lists 1,3-Dimethylamylamine HCl on its label.
There are threads in this site about this Jack3d going back to 2010 and perhaps you could believe that some of the guys getting caught back in 2010 really didn't know it was banned, but surely every athlete should know by now.
I can understand how a college kid could screw up, but a professional athlete who knows he's going to be tested? I'd sure as hell be checking any medication I took, especially one calling itself Jack3d.

This stuff is available at most GNC's and Walmarts.
Pretty easy to get.
The funny thing is, as a power athlete, if you don't get some kind of protein supplement your performance will suffer. Its also a tight rope becaue every protein supplement is made for FAT PENGUINS trying to get into shape, not for professional athletes.
Its a joke because probably every NBA, NFL, and MLB player takes this crap and can have a billion excuses for getting injected while Olympic athletes can even brush their teeth.
Wow. Didnt Tyson Gay get "injured" too last season?

Penguins?
You could always get a protein suppliment with PED's listed on the back
Loads of sprinters have been done on similar stimulants. He's a doper
spot on ukathleticscoach! Hopefully the Jamaican hoax will go down soon!!!
You've got to know when to hold'em....thank god it wasn't Kenny Rodgers.

Why do a sprinter need protein supplement? If you want to add 20kg of muscle in a year you really doesn't need much more protein, its been proven. Protein supplement is expensive urin.
I feel bad for guys like Merritt that are good guys and get screwed over.
