If he's running that times in February...he will be in mid 44 shape for Olympics.
Jamaica 4x4 will have a good leadoff for the finals.
Yohan Blake
Jermaine Gonzalez
Ryker Hylton
Usain Bolt

You're crazy to think those guys are going to run 400's before the 4x1.
Cray.
Zee.
Obviously that i'm crazy...as you will be too when Bolt take 4 golds.
Mike Berry already ran a 45.5 indoor split this season..
And Mike Berry has a 19.26 speed in 200m?
You guys are missing my point.
Blake has a tremendous potential.
Note how he ran 4x100 and 4x400 today.
He's capable to make 44.5 in 4x400 and comeback the next day and run sub 9 in 4x100 2nd leg
Mike Berry ran a 43.83 split in Daegu.
I bet Blake and Bolt might both do it, IF neither of them wins the 100 or 200 and they're just after medals.
Its unlikely but possible. But they aren't 400 specialists, and they won't be in 400 shape come the olympics. They will be in 100/200 shape.
The U.S will run 2:56 on paper in London or considerably faster with a healthy Wariner.
South Africa will be 2:57+ on paper.
Jamaica is hoping for a Bronze if they can beat the UK, Russia, and Australia.
Gonzales and Bolt are the only ones with Sub44 relay potential and Bolt will be exhausted. I don't think Blake is going to aim for a medal in the 4x400 unless he's lost both 100 and 200. Bolt probably won't either. Either one would prefer the 4x1 Gold over the 4x4, and the U.S 4x1 will be back. Gay and Dix, its their last chance. Patton and Gatlin will also be very hungry, they all know its their last shot. Dix should know this is his best chance left with a quality crew.
Bolt and Blake are focusing on the 100, 200, and 4x1 in that order. The 4x4 should not be a focus even remotely.
There is noway Bolt/Blake run the 4x4 with things set up as they are. Yes if the 4x4 was the last event they could plug those two in to run the final. Ig they've both shown well in the 200m meaning they are still in sub45.00relay 4x4 shape.
It doesn't change the fact that on an average Olympic year, the US has four sub-44 relay runners. Bolt running the 4x4 would be a good way for him to guarantee that he won't be running in Rio.
The 4x4 is a USA event, we have sub44.00 relayers watching the race.....depth. Winning the 4x1, far bigger that taking a 4x4 bronze.....obviously.
Now if they had three guys like they had when they set the 4x4 back in 52 and needed just one more ........hmmm?
