I would be interested to know what kind of property taxes they will be paying too. I suspect they will get some kind of tax break on that.

Can't wait to see how they can flip fields in a day from football to T&F to soccer. Leave it to Home Depot to have acheived such a feat ;-)
never gonna happen.
this stadium will be built contingent on an nfl team coming to los angeles AND AEG getting an ownership stake in that team of ~40% in exchange for building the stadium.
I cannot believe that a 60% cut of the Los Angeles market is worth it for any owner to give up that much of his team.
New York should have made the new Giants stadium an all-in-one football/soccer/track facility.
Oh well.
Wow great to hear that LA is back
1/2 the active NFL players and coaches live in L.A. so that'll be a big plus for them.
Dodger Stadium, Forum, Staples Center, and Pac Bell Park are the only privately built and financed pro sports venues in the United States. The rest are public welfare projects for billionaires.
You don't need cigarettes in L.A. Just inhale the air.
The Coliseum and Rose Bowl are both dumps. The RB has a nice setting but nothing much else works for it. In the Pac-12 they are tied for 10th with Martin Field.
Dodger Stadium had huge public dollars. Who paid for all the crappy housing torn down in Chavez Ravine and the relocation costs?
Whether a stadium is built downtown or in Industry it needs to be done. It's hard to believe a metropolitan area of 18M people does not have a first or second rate football stadium.
And yes, if there is a way to include a track that can be assembled in only a few days it makes it that much better.

We used to think that only Los Angeles could demand private sports venues but the San Francisco Giants did it too.
You are probably right. But it doesn't help get it done when you are lying to the public that it is "100% privately financed".

The City of Los Angeles has done since the 1930s what government does best which is ensure private enterprise pay 100% for their own ventures. I commend the City of Los Angeles for being the role model for city governments.

I think this is him
http://www.sorrybrosports.com/2011/08/clippers-fan-to-protest-lockout-by.htmlWhat else does L.A. want ? They have the Oscars, Emmys, Lakers, UCLA, USC, Clippers, Kings, Mighty Ducks, Jose Montana, Barry Bonds, David Beckham, ... Plus L.A. dominates the medal stand at every IAAF WC and Summer Olympic Games. Now L.A. wants two NFL teams w/o taxpayers paying a dime for it like New York City, Boston, Atlanta, etc. had to do ? Even Mitt Romney got a welfare handout from Washington, D.C. for the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics.

why not just make it a 80k seat stadium ??????????????????
Why? Just because it's a round number doesn't make it better.
That article and the accompanying video don't say anything about a track. From what I can see in the images it looks like there won't be any room for it. The trend in NFL stadiums is to put the fans closer to the field, which leaves no room for a track. The would probably have to build the track under the first rows of seats and make them removable.
If anyone has any more info about using this facility for track post it. I'd love to see it.
they can switch in 24 hours. plus it's not an nfl stadium, it's a purpose built stadium owned by aeg/home depot for l.a. sports.
Would love to see the return of full contact t&f at Farmers. Back in the day L.A. kids shoved each other off the track at the Sunkist meets.
I hope they built the stadium at the beach and a tsunami knocks it down on live TV.
Leave it to American ingenuity to produce such a fantastic venue in the most visible city on the planet earth.
