LAGAT IS NOT MAN ENOUGH TO RACE 10,000M!! GO RUPP!! |

The argument about who is better Rupp/Lagat/Solinsky is a waste of time at this point in American Distance running. I truly do not understand it because the way I see it it is a good thing to have records falling, and have so many AMERICAN runners looking good, or having solid post-collegiate careers. Give me a break, this in fighting is a waste of time and makes all of you look like morons. For me I will cheer for all of them, because as one gets better they all must get better. Go USA! |

The most impressive part about the race was not the record but the last mile soloed in 4:01. He'll probably need to be able to close the Olympic 10,000 in sub 4:00 to medal and, barring injury, he should have the strength to do it, especially if he's in 26:3x shape, which he will be. I think people need to be careful about saying Rupp has "NO CHANCE" at anything at this point. There's always a chance. |

despite being hugely impressed by rupp's run, i don't think it improves his chances of a medal in the 10k - he needs to run this kinda run "just to keep up" apart from mo & 3 ethiopians, the kenyans are taking this 10k seriously & finally moved their 10k trials back to May, so that top 3 can prepare properly for london it's likely to be a temperate race, so you can run fast i reckon they will have 3 kenyans in 26'30 shape in london - kiprop ( their king ), & maybe komon ( 26'46wr on roads ) & ? that young kenyan who ran ~ 26'43 & pushed kennster close i think these kenyans will also try to run it as a team ( alternating lead every few laps ) for a ~ 26'30 clocking & i reckon 2 of them will get 26'30 that may not even medal with mo + 3 ethiopians meaning also, rupp coud run 26'30 & may not even get into top 5 !!! |

Hey coach d, where is your girl Solinksy... I miss her... Rupp has a better PR's now in the 2 mile... oh no and a better kick... Watch out 10K... Rupp runs a 26:25 this year, mark my words |

Unless I'm mistaken, Lagat has never once lost to Rupp, Solinsky, or Tegenkamp. Given the frequency of his racing, and at all times of the year, that's remarkable. Rupp might surprise in a fast 5k this summer. |

The last two Olympic 10000s were won in ~27, and you're saying that TWO people will run 26:30? |
| ventolin^3 |

those 2 were run in brutal conditions ( i was in athens & temperatures were at least 90F ) this race may be in more like 70 - 75F heat & you can run fast in that kenyans also now they have to try & run the legs off the field, so they will have to go for it, gun-to-tape this will not be a 27'00 race... |

Why do people who don't know how to run, constantly put runners down on the LR forum. Does it help your ego? |

Actually I think he said Galen might do it and be 5th, so at least 5 people in the 26:3x's is his prediction. I agree it will be a faster than usual 10K this time around, but I think that means in the 26:47-:55 range. For that many to be in the :30's they would have to all go very hard right from the gun, and that just doesn't happen in championship races. |

you have to read between the lines kenyans pushed trials back to May so that their 3 can be in top shape again by august they know they are traditionally vulnerable in last lap, so they have no choice but to run a team race with each of the 3 rotating after coupla laps leading & aiming for huge pbs to run the legs off the field ( this will be a tt, but the pacers you'll get are kiprop & komon as 2 !!! ) it won't work, but 1 of the 3 may get a bronze & i think 26'30 may not get a bronze ! |

Threads like this crack me up. The Oregon hate on this site is insane. Rupp could win the gold medal this summer and people would still hate him. Doesn't make any sense. |

You 2 are the same person or have MAN CRUSHES ON EACH OTHER. No one on this site is stupid enough to believe he won't post under an alias...like stuck with match.com perhaps and no, they won't ban him or his ip as they like the rhetoric, aka pot stirring. He was a major moron who knew very little about running and probably had a 3:22 marathon pr. When he made his stupid prediction and his promise, I only hoped that you too would be gone as well since you two are twin morons...if not the same poster. You liked the op? How dumb are you? |

Lagat is also 10 years older than all of them. While not old enough to be their fathers, he's certainly old enough to be their step-fathers! |
