Why is Millrose naming the women's race a "metric mile."? Don't they know
any better?
There is no such event. It is either a mile (1,760 yards) or 1500 meters. How come they are using this name? I guess moving the race north to 168 Armory
gives them a reason to name anything they want.

No, not new to the sport.
Ran in Millrose in college (60's) and had my team compete in the late 70's.
The men run the Wannamaker Mile (1,760 yards) while the women run the
Wannamaker Metric Mile (1,6407 +). I guess Millrose thinks the women should run a shorter "mile" than the men.
Which is the real mile?
