This is fiction. There may be some deposition of new keratin for a few minutes to an hour after clinical death, but the cells that manufacture the keratin that makes up hair and nails die also. Each hair follicle has its own dedicated blood supply, as those cells are fairly actively manufacturing materials. This requires energy for the cells. They will die soon after blood flow ceases, and therefore their manufacture and deposition of materials (mainly keratin) stops. Certainly, nothing grows for a few months. That is not possible. Unless you're talking about bacterial growth. |
