Monday: 4 Week: 4 After seeing intergrative medicine doctor Friday will start doing some "interval" training. Odd combo. 6 x 3 minutes at 90% MHR with 5-10 minutes total rest between bouts. Main goal: get the heart rate to drop immediately after work bout. We'll see how this goes. So, might do some bike work after the kiddos crash. |

I've done a few 6's lately. But, 5 is still good. If I can get in 5 or 6 a day every day that'd put me in the 30-40 range each week. Now, if only I can get faster. Can't seem to get anything faster than 16 minute pace unless I go over my heart rate limits. |

guy--You have inspired me to get to the track even in less-than-perfect sprinting conditions, and my training is going well, the problem now is how not to overtrain! On another note, a friend of ours was just diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and will be undergoing treatment at Mayo for several months. She is taking off work and devoting herself to her garden to stay active over the summer. |

Sorry to hear about your friend. Hopefully they can help her our. As I tell everyone, try to find some sort of alternative/integrative support system to complement traditional therapy. The Block Center in Chicago often doubles expectencies in terms of how long prognosis may be. If not them, just something. Wednesday: 1-1/2 warmup then 6 sets of 500m "running" (hah, yeah right) and 500m walking (VERY slowly). Week: 16-1/4 Man that kicked my butt. |
