Def take Ritz/Rupp in this one. Sol could win it but I say Teg finishes 4th in any scenario.
1. Sol
2. Rupp
3. Ritz
4. Teg
1. Rupp
2. Ritz
3. Teg
4. Nelson
DNF Solinsky
I expected at least one "Teg doesn't run no 10K" post by now. come on guys.
no 10k discussion thread is complete without mention of Ed Moran.
1 Rupp
2 Ritz
3 Moran
4 Solinsky
5 Teg
look for it to go like this in Eugene
solinsky had a rough 2011 and then had surgery. i wouldn't count anyone as a shoe-in beyond rupp at this point. Ritz should be up there and then you've got Moran, Teg, Solinsky, Nelson and Baughs as the next group, with guys like Bobby Mack potentially making big gains and competing as well.

Damnit! I was going to post that but now you have ruined it.
rupp
ritz
trafeh
maybe lagat does the 5/10k double instead of the 1500/5k that he normally does he says he is running more, longer tempo runs, more long intervals, more long runs. if so
1. lagat
2. rupp
3? solinsky, teg, ritz the main contenders for 3rd.
Teg will get 4th, might even have to fight for it. Ritz and Solinsky are wild cards due to their injuries but I pick them plus Rupp to be the three that go on to the Olympics
lagat won't do 10k...
Rupp
Solinsky
Ritz
end of discussion
In a brutal twist of fate:
Rupp
Solinsky
Teg
Ritz crosses the line 4th and gives up running after being absolutely crushed by not making the Olympic team after two chances.
pretty sure Teg is going back down to the 5k. He said in 2011 he only ran the 10 because his body couldn't handle the pace of the 5k yet after injuries. didn't he?
1. Rupp
2. Ritzenhein
3. Solinsky
Ritz just PRd in the marathon. Where is all this injury stuff coming from? If you watched the LetsRun interview with him, he said that working with a PT has made his body feel better than it ever has in the last 2 years when he said that he was dancing around a lot of stuff. He is healthy now. Last time he ran 2:10:00 in London and went on to run 12:56, 27:22 in a tactical 10k (fastest 10k ever by an american in a championship race), and a 60:00 half. He is going to tear shit up this summer.

That's just harsh.
I feel like a lot of people are underestimating Teg. If he has been healthy this winter, he will be a serious threat to make the team in any even he runs. He used to beat Solinsky all the time before all of his injury problems.
Now granted, that was at the 5k, but when he ran the 10k last year because of his injury problems, and as another poster alluded to I think he'll drop back down to the 5000m. But if he's been healthy I think he'd have a shot at sub 27 just like the rest. Plus, I'd say that Teg and Ritz (other than Lagat) are the only two that have shown the closing speed in an international race to possibly medal.
If he's been hurt then, yeah, he's effed.
1. Ritz
2. Sol
3. Rupp
4. Teg
Ritz will race the trials hard from the start. Sol will try to go him or use leg speed to him 2nd if he is injury free. Rupp has to watch the pollen count. Teg pushes thru, might not even be 4th.

Closing speed? Ritz? What channel have you been watching? Out of Teg, Sol, Rupp, Lagat and Ritz Ritz has by far the least closing speed.

Yeah, after I wrote that, I realized I couldn't think of any race where he closed well, other than his sub 13.
