Top 4 women under the old trials record.
Only time 2 american women break 2:26 on same day.
I don't think he cares what you think either.
Please e-mail NBC and let them know what you think of the Cold War-Era Coverage:

How can a Beantown girl like you not be rooting for Flanagan??
Patti and flanagan's mother ran together back when 2:28 was fast for a woman.
three minute pr for flanagan. ritz wouldn\\\'t do badly to go to schumacher. working with solinsky and teg wouldn\\\'t hurt his 5000m/10000m form (which Salazar can coach) and might even help his marathon form (which Salazar cannot coach, apparently), and I doubt that Jerry would have Ritz doing a ton of bizarre surgeries and form changes. Ritz would also be back training with a bunch of midwesterners. Meb is a competitor and that is why I am not surprised that he won on an off day for Hall. Hall is not a competitor but simply easily the most talented American marathoner since Khannouchi. Good to see Abdi come back like this, but I\\\'m not sure what the tests may bring. Our 5/10k teams will be stronger than they ever have been before with Lagat, Solinsky, Tegenkamp, Ritz, Rupp, and others like Nelson and Bumbi trying for the teams.
Goucher only had about 8 weeks of serious training!!
Was Desi not running for the win?
She left herself a very slim(I would say virtually no) chance by letting everyone hang around.
Why she let it be so (relatively speaking) slow for so long and then never made a move is beyond me. I am a big fan but that is 2 trials in a row that her 'coaching' or decision making has let her down.

Was quoting the Runners World feed. Obviously Boston 2011 had two sub 2:26. (they just realized their mistake).
That's not true.
How do you think that trio of women stack up against the best teams we have ever sent to the Olympics (men/women)for the marathon. 72 men's team was better, with Shorter (gold), Moore (4th), & Bachelor (9th). What other years did we have a stronger trio?
Similarly, is this the strongest combined men/women Olympic marathon team for the U.S.? If not, what team was better?
How did Ryan Bak do?
How did Amanda Marino do?
She qualified didn't she?
How can we not have the men's results almost an hour after Meb finished. These were great races, but Houston/NBC/USATF have really failed fans of the sport today.
I don't know why people say Salazar can't coach the marathon. This is a PR for Ritz despite going out very fast. It's not what you'd think he could run based off his track times, but he just isn't resilient enough to do the long blocks of high mileage training he'd need to run 2:06.

The only thing we know for sure is that the goal since high school was "to be an Olympian".
Mission accomplished.
Sorry for having to run to mixed zone for a second.

Goucher 2:26:06
Hastings 2:27:17

A great race if he hangs on though. Unfortunately or fortunately, Weldon will be asking him about his training partner's supposed EPO positive if no one else does.

get him out of there and get ritz in!
