awesomeness
Abdi is going to be on the team with himself, is he not? And he might consider himself to be a great guy.
I think they've hit mile 25. Flanagan with her biggest lead yet 3seconds but Davila still close.
This is the stretch where Meb pulled away. Can Flanagan do the same? Desi hanging tough.
I agree that Meb has the better record, but when guys are 2-2, all in big races, it's not nuts to say they're pretty close. Are you willing to say, right now, that Meb will beat Hall in the Games and that it won't be close?
As for the 2:04... I think you're knocking over a man largely made of straw. And I note that a number of people who mock Hall's 2:04 also have argued that the American marathoners of today are not as good as those of 30 years ago by citing times run in, say, Boston in 75 or 81 or 83. Hall's 2:04 is just as legit as BR's 2:09:55 or Meyer's 2:09:01.
I hope Bairu runs one second slower than he needs to
From RW site:
Ritz: [clearly disconsolate] "I rallied as hard as I could. I'm in shock. I'm disappointed but need to turn my attention back to the 10K. i kept telling myself someone will come back. They did, but not enough. It's not my coaching, maybe I'm not meant to run the marathon. I want to be a marathoner. But maybe it's not in the cards. I've gone through so much at one point I thought I'd never run again."
Flanagan 4 seconds up. Davila about 5 ahead of Goucher.
Now 7 seconds up for Flanagan.
How close is Kara?
She has a decent kick, so could be interesting if she's close enough.
I will pray for you. It must torment your soul terribly to hate like this.

This is going to be a solid women's team. Good stuff
This is an insane race! I wish I could watch this somewhere...like TV....or the internet
This is Flanagan's race.
10 second up on Davila. Davila 8 up on Goucher for 2nd. Less than half mile left
Amy Hastings reportedly in 4th in the screen shot but too far back.
Oh! hey Simon, didn't realize you would be on here. Good luck tomorrow!
Hey guys my marathon pr is 2:58:58 . I am a 2 hour marathoner!!!! Cause if hall ran 2:04 I ran two hours.
Let's be real hall ran 2:05 at Boston not 2:04
Hastings ran like a chicken with it's head cut off and blew it.
what is going on with the race!?!?
C'mon Desi..you can do this...hang tough..push..
Ohmygoodness, huh? Great racing! Just pure greatness!
I love it!

Keep your head up Ritz.
