Finally a sub 2:10 runner. What difference 5 seconds can make. I am sure he is not happy about it right now but will be at some point...

Geez, Ritzenhein finally gets that sub 2:10 in the worst position.
PR for Ritz. Can't help but think one of these guys like Ritz could have won if they had gone out more conservatively.
HOORAY FOR OUR USA TEAM!!
A HUGE SHOUTOUT TO MEB!!! GO MEB!!!
Maybe Meb will change his mind for not running the Olympic Trials in 2016 seeing how he just won the race?
Womens race Mile 20 5:33
Mile 21 5:25 Desi to the lead and pushing. Flanagan haning 5 meters back. Goucher another 5 back. The women's race is breaking open.
Brett Gotcher 2:11:06 in 5th

I was definitely pulling for Ritz, but good for Abdi. A lot of people (myself included) had pretty much written him off. Glad to see him make another team.
I got 2 out of 3 in the contest and was within 10 seconds of the winning time.
My wildcard bet was Abdi. Look at the US all time 10k list. He is consistent and great competitor.

BOO-YAHH!!!!
I'm going to buy all the Black Cactus gear I can find. What a performance by Abdi.
What is going on with the women's race???

Malmo - How long did Hall live in Kirkland? Idiot!!!
I don't know, but he didn't move to altitude until he was about 5
GO Desi!!!
So who was 5-10?!
So in head to head marathons that is Meb 2 - Hall 0

Sorry, but Lopes never broke the world Marathon record. Or any other world record for that matter.
Yes, he did. Ran 2:07:21 in Rotterdam. Held the Marathon World Record for 3 years as well as the Olympic Marathon Record with his 2:09 in LA.
So... What happens if a qualifier tests positive for PEDs just like everyone in his training group? Would Ritz go?
Mile 22 5:31 for women Desi still leading Flanagan now in her slip stream 2 meters back. 10 meters to Kara.
This should be your team.
damn it. Where's the 5th man?

You're either unaware that the 1985 Rotterdam Marathon did in fact take place and that Lopes ran 2:07:12 there, or are clinging to the distinction in those days between "world best" and "world record." Which is it?

You feel so bad for him because ....?
Because someone forced him to train submerged in water, and sit in a cryo freezer? Someone made him change his running form after a decade of running and forced him into unnecessary injuries?
He made these choices. He has chosen to waste the past few years of his career with a coach that's not right for him.
Yep.
Let's just agree that SALAZAR CAN NOT COACH THE MARATHON, and call it a day.
