Aided or non-aided.... the man can run 2:04 ... no way there is a 3 min assistance from the wind in boston
Women are off but they're going slow from what I see on Twitter.
Hall can go out at this pace and hang on, I would think. But, is anyone else getting sucked out to fast and will eventually fade and miss the team because of it???
#Ritz
The race is actually setting up perfectly for the 2:11 guys who go out at that pace. They can just bide their time and let the wheels fall off the lead pack.
Nick Arciniaga moved up 11 spots to 9th place @ mile 3.
This is what happens when prehistoric networks control broadcasting rights. Networks will be dead-transformed soon but not yet.
Good to see Hall being Hall and running strong from the start. This tactic works well for him against American fields - not so much when racing the best from Kenya.
Yeah I know ...

Hope you're not right, but damn this is pace is super-aggressive.
wheres gotcher?
I'm just glad Hall is making it honest. Anyone making the team today (or trying to beat Hall) is going to have to earn it. ....BTW Women's first mile 6:11, WTF?

I sent NBC an email. Not that it will do any good but if enough people send them we may bring on change. Man- no one cares about the NHL anymore and they show that. We get people where live (Upstate NY) complaining that the NHL is on TV at all.
19:17 for 4 miles. 4:48 4th mile. Hall still leading with pack of 7 double file behind him.
Camille Herron of Letsrun fame is leading women's race
USATF has a really cool page which after each mile shows you the split of every runner in the field and how much they've moved or down.
You have to check it out:

He's waiting to pick off the 2:10-2:12 guys who die from the too aggressive pace.

Speaking of "word out"...
That page was great for the first couple of miles but is delayed now. 4mi split not showing up yet.
Joseph Chirlee in lead pack still. A U.S. Army runner. He has to be in over his head at this pace.
Um I don't see Hall in the 5 mile split yet...
The houston2012.com splits page seems to be dying...
