wise choice
Just saw the story myself. So that leaves two spots open after Hall. Who's everyone got now?
can't predict clinical results with 100% accuracy. Often times it's safer to just bow out. That's life.
Silly gamesmanship. Everything he knows now he knew a month ago.

Hall, Meb, Ritz, in that order.
It must have been some kind of ploy.
Meb and Ritz, even with Meb's lost training do to a foot infection? And Ritz even though he hasn't raced a marathon in a very long time? It's possible.
If it was gamesmanship, wouldn't he keep the decision quiet and be seen walking around in Houston on Friday?
I'm guessing a whole bunch of the 2:11-2:13 guys just breathed a sigh of relief.
Hall, Ritz, I'll tell you the other guys name after he crosses the finish line.
Man, I bet a lot of guys are excited- their odds just increased a ton. And I admit, I'm picking Ritz because I like the guy, he's tough, and toughness is a talent.
Our sport is a joke because the pros treat it as such.
6 weeks of speculation.
Announcement made 1 week before the event.
Thanks...
Solinsky didn't fall for the bait, so he ended the ruse early.
Sorry for the horribly mixed metaphor.
Not a ruse, a ploy!

99.9% he would have made the team 50-50 he would have won the race. He is THE best american distance runner.

The real story is this:
The special fabric that was ordered for a mask to block the pollen specific to Houston wasn't up to Nike specs.
There is still a chance he will run depending on the dew point allergin ratio the day of the race and whether the special fiber can be spun by Nike crossbred moths in Vietnamese rain forests.
There is also a 1 3/8 mile stretch of the course is not Rupp certified. There is a course protest filed by Salazar.
THIS RESPONSE.
