I don't care about mile times.
There are sports like track and field distance running and cross country which are stupid in a different way. Seeing that there is no advantage of distance running or any race ran over 100 meters all out. It does not benefit the human body. It causes too much lactic acid buildup which thus destroys the muscle from the inside out. Causing the person to become a weaker human being overall.
There's no point to distance running. It was a bad human invention. Just because there are two points on earth doesn't mean that this distance was ever meant or designed for the human body to be run.
You can get a better workout by doing 8 by 40 yard dashes all out with a 5min rest in between than any stupid little distance workout out there.
They are all pointless. The human body becomes stronger after short sprints. Meanwhile distance running does nothing but destroy the body from the inside out.
Distance running prohibits protein synthesis within the muscle fibers thus causing them to gradually become weaker and smaller. It's amazing how many people continue this stupid tradition of distance running.
It's almost like continuing to do something that you know is unhealthy from the 1500s but you do it anyways because you feel a need to continue it's tradition.
Every distance runner on this planet needs to realize the truth about distance running.
Plus why do you think there are so many overweight distance runners? That's because it does not freaking work. They are overweight to begin with and here they are out there destroying any other muscle in their body thus making them even weaker than before.
If you want to lose weight then sprints are the way to go. In intervals. Such as 8 by 100 meters all out with a 5 min break in between. This will build up the muscle. Not break it down.
It's an absolute joke that people continue to believe that distance running or any type of running over 100 meters all out is healthy in any way. It's not.
