I think you need to review your history. Why was the attack launched in 1967? As a brief analogy, if someone who had attacked you several times walked up to you and pulled back his arm to punch, would you take the initiative to strike or would you wait to be smashed in the face before retaliating?

The surrounding countries engaged in open hostile rhetoric, restricted oil shipments and resources, and massed along the border. There isn't a sane individual alive who would have encouraged a country in that situation to sit on its laurels and wait for the hammer to drop.

And to the trolls who keep claiming that the Palestinians are indigenous to the land - Palestinians are actually Arabs. Most of them immigrated to the area in the last 150 years, just like most of the people there of European descent. Additionally, a very significant percentage of the Jewish-Israeli population is indigenous middle eastern. Who do you think built Jerusalem? What do you think used to sit where the Al Aqsa mosque with the golden dome in Jerusalem? Perhaps two previous Jewish temples dating back to 1000BCE?

And to the question about settlements, why does it matter what religion people belong to when living in an area? Most of the settlements predate 1948, and between 1948 and 1967 there were Jews living under pseudo-Jordanian rule in the West Bank. It's not like it was a recent land grab. Why is it such an offense to be a Jew living on land where Muslims are? I don't recall any Israeli-Jews getting pissed about the predominantly Arab towns throughout Israel. Have some moral equivalency, please. Regardless, in any two-state solution peace agreement most of the settlements within the West Bank would be dismantled anyway, just like in the pullout from Gaza in 2005.

Let's look at 1967.

Israel struck first, attacking the Egyptian Air Force, launched a massive assault, fought the entire war outside her borders, capturing large tracts of land that she still occupies 45 years later and illegally settles with her own people. Oh, and by the way, accomplished this in six DAYS. Yet you have been fooled into thinking this was a defensive war by Israel. It was a god damned land grab.

By the way, how does the continued expansion of jews only settlements fit into your Israel is the victim story?
