Yes, standing in front of the wind gauge would be unethical, if it is actually true. There are plenty of posts on this site that are hearsay, rumors and lies.

I know that the administration is not allowing her to do that. She has to hire an actual distance coach. From what I heard this morning, she did have the CNU guy in. Apparently there is a MAC coach also in the mix and a Division 3 coach.

OSU wih both genders now with a sprints coach as head coach will never make nationals in cross country again. All scholarships into the sprints and jumps going forward. At least the men's coach there now is pretending to care about distance, Coach Dennis wants to have only a volunteer over the distance area. I guess hard to argue with the defending track team champion coach!
always thought, does that even make a difference to stand in front of it. Of course not right on top of it, but fairly close. Saw it a few times a few years back, heard some coaches point it out, but of course it helped their athletes too so no one really spoke up. never really saw the point of it, no one was breaking records and winds weren't crazy
Did ETSU hire someone who stands in front of wind gauges? Did they hire the wind gauge itself? Did they hire a jerk or an a$$hole? Someone from Penn? A D3 coach? Hello?

OK, so what jobs are open/ closed?
There is still a lot of movement for it being so late.
UNC - who are they hiring?
FSU - Throws?
Maryland - Distance
Purdue - Distance/ Sprints
Princeton - Distance
Stanford -- Director
Iowa -- Jumps
What else is still out there?
Iowa job is on hold.
What are they waiting on? Who were the finalists?
Uh, Mike Curcio, anyone?
Is Curcio leaving Appy? Going to NF? Who else is in the running down there?
What do you think the assistant positions at Stanford pay?
UNF... no job has been posted!

Matt Kaczor was the MAC coach
I'm on tis board and you fellas still mock me
I've whispered, I've roared, the situation's still ROCKY
They'll try me for perjury, but I'll run from te cop
Even with surgery, I'll still stay on TOP
Ray, if that's the truth, I'll come grab a pint with ya. That would be a great hire.
George Watts???
Did you ever confirm why Coach Eli left? I was recruited last spring by ETSU.
Finally some man who can solve the riddle! Ridiculous banter! Pints for the fellas!!
Now for young Eli he was a bit shady
the girl on the team, still quite not a lady
Asked to leave town 'fore the word would get out
Too bad for LetsRun and my mouth that will spout!
I guess that's what happens when ya switch from Guinness to Jameson. Methinks I see double Double DoUbLe...
Good for George Watts!
He will do well. It will be wierd to not see him in orange our there at meets but he will be welcomed back from the coaching breathern.
Patience...the ad will run, however, the deal is done.
Just waiting to go through the proper channels within the State system...it will be a formality ad. Mark and Angela have left for UNC-Chapel Hill...best to them.
Hopefully, the Div 1 asst coach we hire will live up to the hype....the field is very small - it will come from within this group, regardless of who applies via the ad that will run shortly. Not going with a big name coach does allow the salary to be dropped from what Mark was making...probably enough "scratch" for a young, eager coach to live on (just not near the beach)...heard 40K.
About damn time. Good for Watts. And ETSU.
A farm animal will be hired at UNF.
